Partnership Between Japanese Yusen Logistics and İnci Logistics Announced

Leading Japan-based, global logistics company Yusen Logistics is signing an important and strategic collaboration agreement with Turkish İnci Logistics.

Yusen Logistics is entering a partnership with İnci Logistics, which is a member company of İnci Holding. This collaboration in the logistics sector signifies a crucial step for both parties, not only for Turkey but also for the international sector. Yusen and İnci Logistics are expanding and strengthening their positions in the sector with a 32 percent partnership.

Yusen Logistics ranks in the top 15 logistics companies in the world. It currently has offices in 40 different countries with 17,000 employees, supplying ocean and air freight forwarding, transportation and contract logistics services.

Yusen Logistics commenced its activities in Turkey in October 1st, 2012, with the name of Yusen Logistics Turkey. İnci Logistics was founded in 1997 and provides domestic and international logistics, supply chain solutions and supply chain consultancy services. The collaboration between these two companies, İnci Logistics and Yusen Logistics, is officially announced today following the ceremony held in Istanbul, at the Divan Hotel.

This collaboration will create a new and stronger player for customers seeking quality logistics and value-added services in the Turkish market. Bringing together the complementary experience of Yusen Logistics in global markets on the one hand, and İnci Logistics’ expertise in the domestic market on the other, the partnership will provide logistics solutions on a national and global scale.

This mutually beneficial collaboration will enable Yusen Logistics to strengthen its position in the Turkish markets, and İnci Logistics to expand its business volume on a global scale. Additionally, with the improving Japanese and Turkish economic situations, this collaboration will be well placed to provide the high quality international logistics services which the area has been longing for.

The collaboration enables İnci Logistics to expand its investment program and accelerate business growth by offering an agency network and a portfolio of overseas logistics services through Yusen Logistics.

Regarding the partnership the President of İnci Holding, Perihan İnci said: “Logistics is a key economic driver in Turkey and worldwide. With the Turkish logistics industry currently worth $80-100 billion USD and forecast to reach $108-140 billion USD by 2017, we have strengthened our position in the sector with this partnership with NYK Group. This collaboration reflects increasing Turkish foreign trade and the need for competitive solutions for export traffic to a growing number of countries, as well as the needs of global brands in the Turkish domestic market. We are now in a position to accelerate our development in the sector, as Yusen Logistics is already active in countries where there is a concentration of Turkish foreign trade, serving leading global brands. We believe this collaboration serves the best interests of Turkish customers in the global market and global customers in Turkey.”

Commenting on the partnership, Ian Veitch, Managing Director, Yusen Logistics Europe added: “I am delighted to endorse this partnership and we look forward to working with İnci Logistics to increase activity in this region. Yusen Logistics has ambitious growth plans for Turkish markets where we see significant opportunity in both the short and long term, in terms of both domestic and international solutions.”

Also regarding the partnership, the President of İnci Logistics Cihan Elbirlik said: “İnci Logistics, as a company of İnci Holding which started in the automotive sector, is now combining its industrial logistics experience which it had developed in various sectors over time, in the Turkish markets with Yusen Logistics’ international expertise and global infrastructure. The companies will continue to expand themselves and improve a sector that has the quality logistics service expectation.”

İnci Logistics provides ocean and air freight to Europe, America, Far East, Middle East and Africa, and land transportation and storage solutions to Europe and CIS countries. It is aiming to be in the first 10 logistics service providers in Turkey with the aid of this collaboration. İnci Logistics’ expert team and advanced technological infrastructure provides tailor-made, value-added supply chain solutions according to the needs of the main and sub-industry, wholesale and service sector customers.

Considering the partnership, Yusen Logistics Turkey’s Managing Director, Hakan Meriç said: “Yusen Logistics has chosen Turkey as a center to grow and strengthen its position as a player in the regional sector.
